FAQ

Question: How will the new OSU wireless network initiatives be carried out?

The project governance structure has been formed to address key areas of need for the wireless project, which are:

• sponsorship
• arbitration
• scope control
• planning
• managing
• communicating
• experiences
• requirements
• executing
• advocacy

The project governance structure is comprised of 5 committees: Executive Sponsors, Executive Steering Committee, Core Committee, Advisory Team and Implementation Team.

Each committee is populated with representatives from colleges, selected support units and student governments.

Although all committees are important, the Advisory Team is perhaps the most crucial as it provides guidance to the Core Committee (responsible for planning and managing the project) in the form of experiences with wireless technology, customer requirements and endorsement. Advisory Team members represent either a technical or pedagogical perspective.
